2016 Chicago Art Girls Holiday Pop-Up

The Chicago Art Girls are finishing up the summer outdoor art fair season.  In the next month the frenzy of setting up the tent every week or so will end.  Instead of taking a vacation, attention will turn toward the holidays, and of course, the Chicago Art Girls Pop Up Shop.  The list will soon be released of participating CAG's and the guests that will make up the show this year.

Meet one of our sponsors for the 2015 Holiday Pop-Up: Squasht Boutique

The Chicago Art Girls are so pleased to have some very lovely sponsors for the Pop Up this year, one of which is the very cool Squasht boutique.  Located in Ukranian Village, Squasht features its own line of clothing, hats and accessories as well as a great selection of other independent designers from the Chicagoland area and beyond.

Meet our main 2015 Holiday Pop-Up Sponsor: Dizzy Cow

This year the edict to buy local got a little more fun.  Dizzy Cow, located in the bustling North Center neighborhood, is a perfect stop for holiday shopping or just dropping buy for some candy and a blast from the past.  Old fashioned candies, toys, books and children’s clothing are all available in this cozy space.

Meet the Art Girls: Kate Strong

While all Chicago Art Girls work hard and most drive a lot, Kate Strong of Strong Wear is one of the hardest working, and definitely racks up the most milage.  Very few weekends are not show weekends and long distances do not seem to phase her in the least.  While many people get to the show destination and sit in the hotel between setting up and show time, Kate is out there exploring the area, finding the best food and most interesting museums and most off-beat attractions.  The word indefatigable comes to mind.  She must be tired but you would never know it.

Nancy's Excellent Adventure

Chicago Art Girl Nancy Gardner of Nancy Gardner Ceramics took a trip to Turkey this summer amidst her busy art fair schedule.  Here is her account of her trip overseas....

Turkey has long been the meeting point of East and West, an ancient crossroads and seat of power where layers of history exist along side a vibrant culture.   It is fascinating to see the remnants of centuries of civilization, coming from a place where old means 200 years.

And now a word from our SPONSORS...

A website building platform, INDIEMADE is our top level sponsor for our Spring Pop Up.  With all the social media going around, it's easy to forget your online homebase is your website, where people

4th Annual Spring Pop-Up: May 2-3

Chicago Art Girls are getting ready for the 4th Annual Spring Pop Up on May 2nd and 3rd, and it is shaping up to be a blast.  We are back at Bell School, with its beautiful new space and great light and of course all that free parking and easy access to public transportation.

Chicago Art Girls represent at American Craft Council Show, Baltimore, MD

It is well known that Chicago Art Girls hit the road for the summer shows, traveling far and wide to show their work.  They are called the people of the tent and a more intrepid band of gypsies would be hard to find.  What is not so well known is that the circuit is not shut down in the winter and that some shows are actually inside a building.  A very large building in the case of
